2025 Eurovision Song Contest final predictions
Eurovision history could be made in Basel on Saturday night if favourites Sweden become the first nation to win the Eurovision Song Contest eight times.
The Swedes have gone odds-on for victory since the semi-finals, with Austria and France their closest market rivals, but anyone expecting the polished pop of their notable former winners Abba and Loreen would be mistaken.
Bara Badu Bastu by KAJ is a quirky novelty song about saunas that is expected to top the televote and has a great late draw in 23rd of the 26 acts. However, favourite-backers could have a real sweat on before the huge chunks of public votes are added at the end of the process as Sweden may not fare so well with the juries due to the lack of technical merit and gravitas of the song.
Second favourites Austria have the opposite issue - they are favourites to win the jury vote but not likely to command overwhelming viewer support and they have also been handed a tough single-figure draw in ninth - Sweden in 2023 were the only nation to overcome that handicap in the last 20 years.
France look a solid pick to finish in the top four but all the value has gone from their outright odds which have almost halved to 7-1 since before the semi-finals.
Instead, an each-way bet on Finland could offer some decent value. The favourites and late gambles came unstuck last year when Switzerland won, and another mini upset can't be ruled out.
Finland's Erika Vikman brought the second semi-final to a rousing finish on Thursday night and while her draw in the final is the slightly unlucky 13th, she should pull in a decent amount of points from both the juries and the public.
Germany has been starved of Eurovision success in recent years and last year's 12th-place finish was the first time in five years that they had not finished in the bottom two. They can continue that progress and secure a first top-10 finish since 2018 with the power-packed Baller, by Abor & Tynna.
Backing nations with early draws goes against pretty much all the lessons learned from Eurovision betting over the years, but Luxembourg to make the top 10 at 9-1 is hard to pass up. It's a classic throwback Eurovision song and it should do well enough with the juries to overcome a bad position in the running order.
UK act Remember Monday are favourites to finish last with bet365 at 2-1 and while they may just avoid that fate, it's hard to argue with quotes of evens for them to come either 25th or 26th.
