The countdown is on for the 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, which takes place in Switzerland this May. The show heads to Basel after Nemo’s spectacular victory in 2024 with The Code, and a fresh crop of acts are now set to battle it out to be crowned Europe’s musical champion.
With over 35 countries taking part, a brand-new host city, and the UK’s hopes resting on pop trio, Remember Monday, Eurovision 2025 is shaping up to be one of the biggest contests yet.

When is Eurovision 2025?
This year’s Grand Final takes place on Saturday 17 May 2025, live from St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland. The venue, which has previously hosted tennis and major music events, will welcome a full house of fans for one of the most-watched television events of the year.
Before that, there are two live semi-finals to whittle the field down:
- Semi-Final 1: Tuesday 13 May
- Semi-Final 2: Thursday 15 May
Both broadcasts begin at 8pm and will be shown live on BBC One.
Who is the favourite to win Eurovision 2025?
Betting odds will fluctuate as rehearsals and performances begin in the build-up to the Grand Final, but current favourites include Sweden, Austria and France.

Who is representing the UK at Eurovision 2025?
The UK is represented by Remember Monday, a pop trio performing What The Hell Just Happened? They’ll perform in the second semi-final as a preview before the Grand Final.
The UK doesn't have the best record in the competition in recent years, with the last win coming in 1997, courtesy of Katrina and the Waves.

How to watch Eurovision 2025
UK audiences can enjoy full coverage across TV, radio and online. The BBC is once again producing the UK’s broadcast, with Graham Norton returning to lead commentary on the Grand Final.
BBC One and iPlayer will air the semi-finals and grand final live from 8pm.
Who are the Eurovision 2025 hosts?
Three big Swiss names will guide viewers through this year’s show:
Hazel Brugger, an award-winning comedian and presenter.
Michelle Hunziker, one of Switzerland’s best-known international stars.
Sandra Studer, a former Eurovision contestant for Switzerland.
Hazel and Sandra will host the Semi-Finals, while all three will take the reins for the Grand Final.
