Premier League Darts predictions

Nathan Aspinall and Stephen Bunting, winners of the last two Premier League Thursdays, can defy the odds to make it through to the semis of Night 11 in Rotterdam.

Aspinall plays Gerwyn Price in the second quarter-final at the Ahoy Arena before Bunting takes on home hero Michael van Gerwen in the third.

Certainly the Asp has a major soft spot for Rotterdam having taken the nightly honours on each of his two previous visits to the city in the Premier League.

And he must be feeling on top of the world after his last month in which he has won the European Darts Trophy, finished runner-up in the International Darts Open (beating Price en route to the final) and beaten Rob Cross, Van Gerwen and an on-song Luke Humphries in Manchester last week for five precious Premier League points.

Price is playing well - he hit a nine-darter in defeat by Luke Littler last week - and this will be a scrap. But Aspinall loves a scrap, is level on points with the Iceman in the standings, the higher-ranked player and looks overpriced.

Bunting must be feeling calmer and better than two weeks ago after breaking his duck in Berlin on Night Nine.

And it was a proper duck, too, given he had not picked up a single point in the first eight weeks of competition, so the pressure was on in Berlin and he delivered.

Three days later he won the International Darts Open to prove that form is temporary and class permanent.

Last week in Manchester he could not follow up as he ran into a Humphries assault. Cool Hand averaged 118 and change to Bunting's 105.33 in a 6-1 win.

But Bunting has to fancy he can beat Van Gerwen, who is himself out of sorts this year with only one final appearance over the previous ten Thursdays.
