Premier League Darts predictions

There will be a party atmosphere on Night 14 of the Premier League in Leeds with the city's football club celebrating promotion to the top flight of English football.

Leeds supporter Luke Humphries is bound to receive plenty of support from the crowd at the First Direct Arena and Cool Hand Luke looks a decent bet to take night honours in West Yorkshire.

The former world champion played well on the European Tour in Germany last week but was narrowly beaten 6-5 by a resurgent Michael Smith. The same can’t be said for quarter-final opponent Michael van Gerwen, who averaged only 89.52 in a 6-3 defeat to Dirk van Duijvenbode.

Humphries is fancied to get past Mighty Mike which enhances the appeal of each-way bet on Cool Hand winning his third night and first since Exeter on February 27. The 2024 world champion cannot meet Premier League table-topper Luke Littler until the final and Humphries will be strong favourite against either Stephen Bunting or Chris Dobey in the semis.

Nathan Aspinall was another arrowsmith who was out of sorts at the European Darts Grand Prix last week, and a 6-2 loss to Niels Zonneveld isn't exactly ideal preparation for a meeting with Littler.

The Nuke has won 12 of the pair's 13 previous meetings and all four of their clashes in this season's Premier League. Even in a high-class field, Littler is proving on another level and the world champion could swat the Asp aside.

Aspinall has been battling his way to some big results this season but he may not have much more to give. Littler looks a cracking handicap bet giving up a 2.5-leg start and a 6-0 rout is worth a small interest at big odds.

Gerwyn Price and Rob Cross meet in the opening quarter-final of the night and it could prove key in the battle for a top-four spot. The loser of tonight's final last-eight tie between bottom two Stephen Bunting and Chris Dobey will know their playoff hopes will be as good as over.
