Sutter puts Johnston in a different County

A week before he is due to saddle his first Investec Derby runner for 11 years Mark Johnston secured a significant portion of Epsom Classic hope Permian's supplementary entry fee when Sutter County claimed the £100,000 handicap.
A typical example of the Johnston formula, the colt claimed his fourth win from 13 starts on his seventh run of the year for main patron Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, who is Sheikh Mohammed's son.
"These are very attractive races," said Johnston. "I'm a great believer in making hay while the sun's shining and that approach has done this horse no harm."
