Steward smiling despite enduring a difficult year

Louis Steward, the apprentice who looked destined for big things after capturing the Ebor and Balmoral Handicap in 2014, partnered his seventh winner of the year when steering Notalot to victory in the nursery and still raised a smile despite admitting how difficult things had become.
"Racing can drop you as quickly as it picks you up," said the measured Steward, who rides mainly for Notalot's trainer Michael Bell.
"It's not quite been my year. I'm riding out for more people but not getting as many chances."
