King's excellent week continues as Chieftain opens chasing account

Whether it be long-distance staying handicaps on the Flat at Glorious Goodwood or 2m3½f novice handicap chases in Shakespeare country, they all come alike to trainer Neil King.
Just 24 hours after Lil Rockerfeller proved a handicap snip when hosing up at the West Sussex course, King was back in the winner’s circle following Comanche Chieftain’s comfortable success over The Flame.
The trainer said: “Yesterday was one of the proudest moments of my life as very few horses win Goodwood festival handicaps by 15 lengths like Lil Rockerfeller. But I went home last night because if I had stayed with the owners of the horse the likelihood is I would still be there celebrating.”
