Sunday's preview

Scotland's Jack Carlin is a warm order for the Men's Sprint in the velodrome on Sunday but he can expect a test at some point from Trinidad's Nicholas Paul.

Carlin, the reigning British sprint champion, is determined to upgrade his silver from four years ago and he should have the measure of the field.

But he's well aware that Paul looks to be a serious danger.

The Trinidadian took silver in the 1km time trial at last autumn's worlds, was a quarter-finalist in the sprint and finished fourth in the keirin.

Paul warmed up for Birmingham by landing gold in the keirin event at the UCI Nations Cup in Cali, Colombia, earlier this month, and 24 hours later held off the double Olympic gold medallist Harrie Lavreysen of the Netherlands to add the sprint title.
