Bob Olinger maintained a perfect Cheltenham record in emphatic style after he denied last year's winner Teahupoo to win the Grade 1 Paddy Power Stayers' Hurdle.

The Henry de Bomhead-trained ten-year-old was a general 20-1 chance last night but was backed down to 8-1 before the off and secured his third festival win with ease, sweeping from the rear of the field to jump into the lead over the last.

Teahupoo battled bravely under Jack Kennedy but was unable to keep pace with Bob Olinger, who was driven to the line under Rachael Blackmore to win by a length and three-quarters.

The success capped off a 125-1 double on the card for Blackmore, who has now achieved the rare feat of riding a winner in all five championship races at the Cheltenham Festival.

The Robcour pair drew eight lengths clear of The Wallpark, who struggled within the final mile but got back in contention under Mark Walsh and held off Rocky's Diamond for third.

What the winning trainer said

Henry de Bromhead: "Rachael was brilliant on him as we said if you’re going to get beaten, get beaten for coming too late and we were lucky. Home By The Lee was very unlucky and we got on the right side of that.

"We're delighted for the horse, he's just incredible. He had such a reputation a few years ago and things didn’t work out as well as we thought, but to see him come back and do that is amazing.

"I'm delighted for everyone involved, especially Davey Roche, my assistant at home, who would take a bullet for this horse; he adores him. Rachael gave him such a ride and I'm delighted for her too, she's an incredible lady."

What the winning rider said

Rachael Blackmore: "I'm very lucky to get on these horses. He was brilliant, he's got so much speed and he was able to use it there today.

"We went a good gallop and he was still able to pick up off the back of it. It either works riding like that or it doesn't and when everyone on the team is committed to it, it makes it easy.

"He's unbeaten at Cheltenham, even if one day was a fortuitous win, but he's got luck on his side round here. He's a very good horse."
