A top day of action in Ireland plus the latest from all the courses

On Thursday we look to Ireland for the best racing with the Clonmel Oil Chase (2.20) bringing together six smart chasers from three yards and as many owners. Champagne West is the only one of the field reappearing and he still has to prove to what extent we can believe his stunning Thyestes win in January.

There is also a Listed mares' novice chase at 2.50 which contains a filly. Morning favourite Dinaria Des Obeaux is getting up to 21lb from her rivals.

In Britain, the action is more modest, but Taunton and Ludlow both keep up their reputations for providing well-stocked middle-tier fare with a seven and six-race card respectively.

It is also a plentiful day for followers of the all-weather, who have 15 races to sink their teeth into between Southwell in the afternoon and Chelmsford in the evening.
