The incredible Longchamp stat that highlights just how unfair the playing surface was on Arc day

If you were to go into a playground these days, especially in the south of England, you would almost certainly come across plenty of Liverpool fans. Why? Because they're winning.
My eldest brother is a Man City fan because his first football memory was watching Dennis Tueart score an overhead kick to win the 1976 League Cup final. My younger brother is a Forest diehard, even flying back from the States to see them occasionally, because at a very young age he was influenced by them winning the European Cup in 1979 and 1980 under Brian Clough.
Basically, who we are and what we like are decided in our formative years, and for me horseracing was about which races Grandstand had wall-to-wall coverage on when I was growing up.
