Save the cost of the public vote and hand him the trophy now - Sean Bowen is surely getting ride of the year

Those who have been backing Sean Bowen at top prices in running will have had a very profitable season, regardless of what happens between now and the end of April.
Eaton Anne was backed at 999-1 when he won at Uttoxeter on New Year’s Eve, and then came Bowen’s extraordinary ride on Booster Bob at Newbury on Saturday, where his mount touched 879-1 in running. The biggest shock being that his price wasn’t even bigger.
If bookmakers were offering odds on ride of the season, it would be no offers on this one. And as for the Ride of the Year award at the Lesters, whoever’s in charge should save the expense of a public vote and just hand Bowen the trophy now.
