No room for complacency despite welcome increase in crowds

They're coming back, you know. The positive trend of increased racecourse crowds continued at Newbury on Saturday when more than 10,000 attended Lockinge day for the first time since 2022.

The glorious weather should be helping tracks everywhere in boosting figures, but in fairness to Newbury it has seen a major uplift going back to the start of the jumps season.

Reversing the decline was clearly a priority for the track's new chief executive Shaun Hinds and the hard work that has gone on behind the scenes has really paid off.
