Flat horses are often given a bad rap because they're not around for as long as jumps runners - these are an exception

In your racing life there'll be some horses that get lodged deep down in your soul. For me it's never been about any financial gain because my passion is the horses more than the betting, and one who drew me in is Kyprios.
The only times I backed him was ante-post for the Derby and when 14-1 to win the Queen's Vase the same season, only for him to be withdrawn after getting upset in the stalls.
Yet he has fascinated me ever since I saw him win a small race at Cork on his first run as a three-year-old. There was no rhyme or reason to it but he just struck me as being a different kind that day.
