Not easy on the eye but Scandinavia's Leger time was impressive and he could be in the Kyprios class next year

Scandinavia cemented his spot as the best three-year-old in the staying division with his St Leger victory at Doncaster on Saturday, although it wasn’t easy on the eye.
He is a slugger who seems to relish a battle, but is probably quicker than he looks because, not for the first time, he finished off his race well.
A couple of quick furlongs from the four-furlong marker to the two-furlong pole took him to the front, and from there it was tenacity that held off Rahiebb for the best time on the card. It was the only race on the day to dip under standard, and that was impressive given the conditions.
