Godolphin's equine ambassador showing distinct Promise in recent meet-and-greet sessions as he starts new role

British racecourses never saw the best of Man Of Promise as a racehorse but the local community in Newmarket has been getting to know him a lot better in recent weeks.

He was retired last year and has now taken his first steps on the road to replacing the late Papineau as Rehoming Community Ambassador for Godolphin around the town.

Following the death of the Ascot Gold Cup winner last year, Sheikh Mohammed’s operation has gone to the other end of the distance scale with speedster Man Of Promise, who was rated 119 in his pomp for Charlie Appleby just three years ago.
