The chance encounter that put Frankel on the walls of a local restaurant

A chance encounter at Fakenham racecourse has led to an exhibition of equine artwork on the walls of the popular Tack Room restaurant at the National Horseracing Museum which runs for the next fortnight and features paintings of Frankel and Paddington among others.

The works are all by former stable lad Dave ‘Mouse’ Morris, who has sold in the town before but never during a sales week such as the current Somerville Yearling Sale at Tattersalls which has helped to drive interest.

The exhibition, entitled ‘Upsides’, came about somewhat randomly after Tack Room boss Paul Winchester went racing to Fakenham earlier this year and went to buy a racecard.
