The Gigginstown-owned Battle Of Actium looks set to head to the track after getting off the mark at the fourth time of asking in the opening Dennison Commercials four-year-old geldings’ maiden.

Always up with the pace, the son of Fame And Glory displayed a good attitude to get the better off Gondor by a short head in a thrilling finish.

Handler Colin Bowe said: “He's a lovely horse who has gained plenty of experience and is learning all the time. He's improved with each run and could head to the track now.”
