Cabaret Queen (81+) made amends for a heavy fall at Borris on her debut despite not having a clear passage as the runner-up veered around on the run to the last. This was a hot-looking contest which ought to produce a number of multiple winners.

Never Off Duty (91+) travelled with ease throughout and could be picked out as the likely winner early in the home straight such was the confidence Derek O’Connor exuded on the Robert Tyner-trained gelding. He looks an above-average type.
