Bowe reaches 40-winner mark for the first time in landmark season

It was a weekend to savour for the Colin Bowe who recorded a five-timer at Necarne's two-day fixture to reach the 40-winner mark for the first time in a season.

The trainer reached his previous best of 34 twice in the last three seasons, including last year, when he won the leading handler award for the sixth time in his career.

Those titles epitomise his dominance of the trainer's ranks but one record still eludes him, the modern record for most winners in a season which was set at 47 by Robert Tyner in the 2008-09 season.
