Nicky Henderson prepares to welcome Nico de Boinville back to the saddle with stable jockey cleared to ride after injury

Nico de Boinville has been given the green light to return to race-riding, with boss Nicky Henderson excited to see his stable jockey back in action.
The multiple Grade 1-winning rider has been on the injury list since April 21, when a heavy fall from As The Fella Says at Plumpton resulted in broken ribs and neck injuries after being kicked in the back while on the ground.
It has been a long road to recovery for De Boinville, who was ruled out for the remainder of last season and missed big rides on Jonbon in the bet365 Celebration Chase at Sandown and both Constitution Hill and Lulamba at the Punchestown festival.
After providing a positive update on his number one rider in July, Henderson has now revealed De Boinville is ready to go, although his first ride back has yet to be confirmed.
Henderson said: "Nico is doing very well. He’s been riding out with us and he’s cleared to ride in a race, but I’ve nothing for him just yet. He’s passed and he can ride, which is the main thing."

James Bowen, who sits second behind brother Sean in the jump jockeys' championship, replaced De Boinville for the majority of his rides and landed a Grade 1 in Ireland with Lulamba.
Although De Boinville is expected to slot back into his role as stable jockey, Henderson is still keen to use Bowen – and a number of other young riders including Shark Hanlon’s son Paddy – as much as possible.
He added: "James is going all guns blazing trying to keep up with his brother, which is pretty difficult, but we’ll do our best to keep him up there.
"Freddie Gordon is coming to the end of his claim, but we also have a few young jockeys. We have Dan Williams and Henry Main, who are both claiming seven and are very good. Dan can ride against professionals, which is the whole idea.
"Paddy fits in quite well, and there’s a slot there for him with his experience. It gives us a very strong department for the season."
