Epsom Derby preview: what to expect at Epsom on June 7

The Betfred Derby (3.30) headlines a superb Saturday at Epsom, with 19 colts declared for Britain’s premier Classic and richest Flat race, now worth £1.5 million.

Aidan O’Brien bids for a record 11th win in the race and saddles three, including market leader Delacroix, who will be ridden by Ryan Moore, the winning rider of Friday's Epsom Oaks. The wide draw in stall 14 shouldn’t trouble the well-regarded colt, who brings rock-solid trial form into the race.

He faces stiff opposition from Ruling Court, the 2,000 Guineas winner aiming to complete a rare Classic double, and Pride Of Arras, who bids to give Ralph Beckett a first Derby success following an impressive Dante win.

French entries Midak and New Ground add intrigue, while top jockeys including Colin Keane, William Buick and Oisin Murphy are among those in action.
