Team racing and sprints by the seaside just some of the highlights on offer

Monday
A busy start to proceedings with six meetings spread between Britain and Ireland, including Carlisle's unique card which is restricted to professional and amateur female riders. Looking ahead to the weekend, entries will be revealed for Ascot's popular Shergar Cup fixture, with star riders from around the world doing battle in the team competition.
Tuesday
There are five meetings to get stuck into and anyone heading to Nottingham will get a treat as Ryan Moore has his first rides of the year at the track. Newcomer Sextant, owned by the Queen and trained by Sir Michael Stoute, looks particularly interesting in the 1m2f novice.
Wednesday
If you're after some punting fun by the seaside then head down to Brighton as the track's three-day festival begins. If you can't make it to Brighton, then there's always Yarmouth for more coastal shenanigans, plus meetings at Chepstow, Pontefract, Sligo and Kempton.
Fabulous views, good racing and lots of fun: it's the Brighton festival
Thursday
It's ladies' day at Brighton, with the feature Brighton Challenge Handicap. Can Mark Johnston win the race for the third time in the last four years? Aidan O'Brien has a similar stranglehold on the Group 3 Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown, and has a host of entries to choose from this year.
Friday
The festivities conclude at Brighton, with the "Brighton Bullet" Handicap taking centre stage. At the other end of the stamina spectrum – and the other end of Britain – is the valuable 2m Archerfield Cup Handicap at Musselburgh. For those desiring music after racing, Nile Rodgers and CHIC oblige at the latest Newmarket Nights fixture.

Saturday
Hopefully it will be fun in the sun at Ascot as the ever popular Shergar Cup fixture provides a different centrepiece for a Saturday. For the purists there is Pattern action at Newmarket with the Group 3 german-thoroughbred Sweet Solera Stakes, and there is further Group 3 action at Haydock with the Smarkets Rose Of Lancaster Stakes.
Sunday
It's a big day at the Curragh with the Group 1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes for juveniles the main event. There is also the Group 3 Phoenix Sprint Stakes for older horses. For the British contingent, there are Flat cards at Leicester and Windsor to round off another exciting week.
