Warmer weather is expected at Aintree for ladies' day on Friday and the combination of watering and using fresh ground where available has kept conditions on the easy side of good.

Racing took place on Thursday on going described as good to soft, good in places on the National course, good, good to soft in places on the Mildmay, and good on the hurdles track.

While the National course remained the same on Friday morning, the Mildmay is now described as good to soft, good in places, and the hurdles track is good, good to soft in places.

Clerk of the course Andrew Tulloch said: "We've moved the rails in so there's virgin ground, and I think they will just get into the ground a bit.

"We put a bit of water on to maintain safe ground. I think the Mildmay will ride with more good to soft about it and it will gradually dry up."

Approximately 3mm was added to the Mildmay and hurdle courses, along with the same amount between the first six fences on the Grand National track.
