ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the nine live races on ITV4
1.50 Newmarket
Newmarket Academy Godolphin Beacon Project Cornwallis Stakes, 5f, Group 3
Hierarchy ran a stormer to finish a narrow second to Wings Of War in the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes last month and takes a drop in class and trip as he bids for a first Pattern win. However, Irish raider Twilight Jet is a formidable rival, having been beaten only a length and a half into fifth in the Middle Park last time.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Tardis
Form of her Listed win at Newbury has substance; didn't get home over 6f last time
2.10 Chepstow
Professor Caroline Tisdall Supports Heroic Jumpers Veterans' Handicap Chase, 2m7½f
The Stayers' Hurdle-winning trainer and jockey combination of Rebecca Curtis and Adam Wedge team up with likely market leader Geordie Des Champs, who bids for a hat-trick following summer wins at Ffos Las, but a notable opponent is Welsh Grand National hero Potters Corner, who has not been seen since being pulled up in the Grand National in April.
SPOTLIGHT TIP:Dancing Shadow
Ran big race from the front when very close third in this race in 2020; respected
Godolphin Lifetime Care Oh So Sharp Stakes, 7f, Group 3
Frankie Dettori and Ralph Beckett enjoyed Group 1 success at Longchamp last week and team up again with the unbeaten Good America, who made the perfect debut when an impressive winner at Salisbury. Pearl Glory and recent course-and-distance winner Perfect News provide stern opposition.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Good American
Made all at Salisbury on debut; related to plenty of Group winners; potentially smart
Unibet Persian War Novices' Hurdle, 2m3½f, Grade 2
Paul Nicholls has won this race four times since 2011 and has a strong chance of a fifth success with Paso Doble, a ready winner at Kempton in May. Nicky Henderson has yet to win the race but has a strong candidate in easy Warwick winner First Street.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: First Street
Created good impression at Warwick last month and is now 2-2 over hurdles
3.00 Newmarket
Godolphin Stud & Stable Staff Awards Challenge Stakes, 7f, Group 2
Charlie Appleby is yet to win the Challenge Stakes but saddles two useful yardsticks, Al Suhail and D'bai, as he attempts to get on the board. The highly-tried Chindit has not won since landing the Greenham Stakes and comes into this on a recovery mission having been defeated in the Celebration Mile last time.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Chindit
Good 5th in French Group 1 over 1m; hampered at Goodwood after; unproven on good to soft
3.15 York
Download The Casumo App Today Handicap, 1m
No fewer than six course-and-distance winners clash in this handicap and are headed by Challet, who was a game victor on the Knavesmire last month. Ouzo and Hartswood also have strong form at the track but have not been at their best lately, while popular veteran Raising Sand bids for another big handicap success.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Hartswood
Merely midfield at Glorious Goodwood last time but York has brought out the best in him
bet365 Fillies' Mile, 1m, Group 1
Inspiral has been touted as a star of the future and aims to keep her perfect record intact with a first top-level success, as well as showcase her credentials as a leading Classic contender for next season. Group 3 winners Mise En Scene and Concert Hall are on standby if she disappoints.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Inspiral
Well-bred filly who is 3-3; comfortably won the May Hill most recently; strongly respected
3.50 York
Casumo Dare To Be Different Handicap, 1m5f
Ravenscraig Castle was a solid third in the Melrose Stakes at the Ebor Festival in August, but needs to bounce back from a poor performance at Musselburgh last time. Further interest in the race comes from Mahrajaan, who heads into this looking for a four-timer.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Mahrajaan
Decisive winner on handicap debut at Hamilton and could take 10lb rise in his stride
4.10 Newmarket
bet365 Old Rowley Cup Handicap, 1m4f
Plenty of progressive three-year-olds run in this and one of interest is Siskany, who has been gelded since a fine effort at Glorious Goodwood. Injazati and Southern Voyage are seeking four-timers, while Boltaway could not have been more impressive last time over course-and-distance at the Cambridgeshire meeting.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Moshaawer
Second in the ultra-competitive Melrose at York; should be in the thick of things again
