Geraghty back to partner Hash Brown in feature

Barry Geraghty, out of action since suffering a hairline fracture of a shoulder blade in a fall at Killarney on August 26, returns with four rides for JP McManus, including the Michael Hourigan-trained Hash Brown in this event.

Frank Berry, McManus's racing manager, said yesterday: "It's good to have Barry back. Hash Brown's recent form has been disappointing but Michael says he's happy with him, so we're hoping to see some improvement.

"We also run Whatareudoingtome, who has been pretty consistent at this level and who is in good form, and My Hometown who has been very disappointing and was pulled up at Listowel last time. We're just hoping he will show a bit more."

The Andy Lynch-trained Jarob, who heads the weights, is the only course-and-distance winner in the line-up, while The Winkler and Benemeade are blinkered for the first time.

O'Brien looking forward to Katnap return

Katnap will be making his first appearance since finishing second in the Topham Chase over the National fences at Aintree in April.

A dual winner over fences, the ten-year-old faces ten rivals and trainer Joseph O'Brien said about his chances: "He's been off the track a long time but he's been in good form at home. We're looking forward to starting him back."

JJ Slevin, who rode Katnap to win a 2m5f handicap chase at Leopardstown in January, is aboard again and claims 3lb.

Cocktails debuts for Elliott

Cocktails At Dawn's experience of the famous Aintree fences in April was at the different end of the scale compared to Katnap.

A dual chase winner for Nicky Henderson, he was a first fence faller in the National and now will be making his first appearance for Gordon Elliott, who is also represented by Cecil Corbett.

Bryan Cooper partners Cocktails At Down, who will wear a tongue-tie for the first time, with Jack Kennedy on Cecil Corbett whose three chase wins have been achieved over longer distances.

Elliott said: "Cocktails At Dawn is in good form but will come on for the run while we're happy with Cecil Corbett although we'd like to see the ground dry out a bit. The better it is, the more he'll like it."
