Dominic Elsworth saddles first runner as a trainer and a sprinting great's name appears again - Wednesday's punting pointers

Punting pointers for Wednesday's meetings. . .
Catterick: Dominic Elsworth has his breakthrough day
It is a landmark day for Dominic Elsworth as the Grade 1-winning jockey is set to saddle the first runner of his training career.
Elsworth, who retired in 2014 and had big wins in the 2012 Clarence House Chase with Somersby and at the 2008 Cheltenham Festival with Mister McGoldrick, is spearheading a new training venture which also involves another former Grade 1-winning jockey, Ryan Hatch.
They have been training people up to tackle racing's staffing crisis as part of an equine management course at Solihull Riding Club, and the yard's maiden runner will be Emerald Time in the 1m7½f bumper (4.08).
Tom Bellamy has been booked to ride the four-year-old son of Time Test, who faces ten rivals on his debut. Elsworth said: "It's a new venture for everyone and I'm looking forward to the race. He's done everything very nicely at home with what we've got."
Catterick stat: Willie Mullins arrives
Ireland's top trainer, who has 70 per cent of his horses currently running to form, saddles his first runner at Catterick with Jarrive De Mee in the 1.38.
Kempton: A trainer-owner combination to follow
It pays to follow Stuart Williams when he has a horse for owners Ballylinch Stud and they team up to unleash an unraced debutante on this seven-race card.
Williams has trained three winners from just ten runners for the Group 1-winning owners during his career at a strike-rate of 30 per cent. Backing those horses would have yielded a £10.50 profit from a £1 level-stake.
They are represented in the 7f maiden (6.30) by Vinatera, who finally makes her racecourse debut as a four-year-old.
Her pedigree is nothing to shout about, but she is a half-sister to Deep Intrigue, who has won seven times including in Bahrain. She is also related to two other winners.
Her task could be tough on debut as, given she faces younger rivals, she has to concede 13lb, but she does have the assistance of Tom Marquand on board.
Kempton Stat: Costello counts for Appleby
Dougie Costello has a 26 per cent career strike-rate when riding for Charlie Appleby and Godolphin. He partners Tribal Act (5.30) for them.
Lingfield: The 'other' Takeover Target runs
Racing fans from earlier this century may remember Takeover Target, and his name appears on a racecard again at this eight-race meeting.
The original namesake was one of a host of star Australian sprinters who plundered riches in Britain, with his pinnacle in this country coming when winning the 2006 King's Stand Stakes. He then finished third in what was the Golden Jubilee Stakes four days later before finishing unplaced in the July Cup.
His global exploits saw him crowned the world's highest rated sprinter that year, but it is fair to say Britain's Takeover Target has not matched his achievements.
Trained by Pat Phelan, he does have some Australian relations being by Zoustar, but is yet to win from ten starts.
He was last of 12 on his stable debut at Kempton in September and must bounce back against nine rivals in the mile handicap (2.25).
