Ballysax winner has first start since last year's Derby and Highclere debut scorer back in action - Friday's punting pointers

Punting pointers from some of today's race meetings . . .
Dundalk: Derby runner Dallas Star returns on all-weather
It's not every day you see a Derby runner at Dundalk but that will be the case in the 1m2½f conditions race (6.30).
The Group 3 Ballysax Stakes winner Dallas Star will run for the first time since finishing 14th of 16 in the Epsom Classic in June. He completed the course 44 lengths behind City Of Troy, who went on to win the Eclipse and International in a memorable summer.
This will be Dallas Star's first run on an all-weather surface, although his trainer Adrian Murray will surely be confident after saddling three winners from his six runners in the last fortnight.
Dundalk stat: course specialist
The ten-year-old Harry's Bar is 8-23 at Dundalk and is the one to beat on ratings in the 6f claimer (3.50).
Ffos Las: Thomas bids to enhance fine form
Sam Thomas scooped the big handicap chase at Kempton last weekend, which helped to boost his excellent recent strike-rate.
The South Glamorgan trainer has saddled four winners from his last seven runners for a 57 per cent strike-rate, with his other runners finishing second or third.
He sends just one runner, Whiskey Yankee, to Ffos Las for the 2m bumper (5.25). The four-year-old is from a family Thomas knows well as he is a brother to the yard's dual winner Ed Keeper.
Thomas said: "He's not an obvious mudlark but he's showed us he should be okay on it. I just hope the ground isn't too horrendous.
"He's a nice horse. We don't usually crack on with our four-year-olds but he's been forward and taken everything we've done with him in his stride."
Ffos Las stat: Rebecca Curtis
Rebecca Curtis has a 29 per cent strike-rate (2-7) with handicap chasers at Ffos Las this season. She runs the lightly raced Monbari in the 2m3½f contest (4.20).
Southwell: Debut winner Cavolo Nero out to confirm promise
Cavolo Nero will bid to improve on a highly promising debut in the 7f restricted novice (5.45).
The Highclere-owned three-year-old beat the evens favourite Invited on his debut at Southwell in the style of a useful prospect last month, edging ahead close home and winning with a bit up his sleeve.
From the family of Group 1 winner Dream Of Dreams, Cavolo Nero represents Newmarket trainer James Ferguson, who has a 23 per cent strike-rate with his runners at the track.
Cavolo Nero's rivals include the Ralph Beckett-trained Bozeman, who was an eyecatching fifth on his debut at Kempton last month.
