There’s a good chance another ex-pointer will win Aintree's Grand National
Derek O'Connor's take on the Grand National from a point-to-point perspective

If the top 34 horses in the weights line up for Saturday's Grand National, half the field will have started in the Irish point-to-point field.
That's a good percentage, especially since 14 of the 34 are French-bred horses, including, it must be said, three of the main fancies: Iroko, Intense Raffles and last year's winner I Am Maximus.
However, there's a decent chance that an ex-pointer can add his name to a list that features the names of Rule The World, One For Arthur, Minella Times, Corach Rambler and Noble Yeats, all winners in the last ten years.
