Samcro might be useless now but he wasn't always useless - he's made my top five

I see there is yet another Samcro sequel on its way. Coming to a field near you very soon is Good Will Hunter Chasing, this one produced by Camilla Sharples. It will surely be the final instalment in the Samcro series which began with Jesus Christ Superstar, my personal favourite.
"The hype with Samcro is rubbish," proclaimed Michael O'Leary during that blockbuster first movie back in 2017 after he had won his first five races on the bounce. "He is not the next coming of Jesus Christ. He would have to go to Cheltenham and actually win a race there for me to get excited about him."
Samcro did indeed go on to win at Cheltenham. He won the Ballymore despite losing a shoe. He was unbeaten in his first seven races. He was a brilliant novice hurdler, so good that Gordon Elliott and the O'Leary brothers pitched him into open company for the Punchestown Champion Hurdle as a novice. Not many do that. That was the day the real Samcro died. Michael thinks so anyway, and I tend to agree with him.
