Pressure has brought progress in weighing rooms saga - but jockeys' anger remains understandable

An extremely sorry saga has not been brought to an end but the end may have been brought nearer. That represents a welcome development, although it is perfectly understandable why jockeys continue to feel angry.

It was a combination of fury and frustration that prompted the Professional Jockeys Association to work with the Racing Post on our special reports that highlighted the shocking conditions encountered by riders on far too many British racecourses. 

In pictures and words, jockeys laid bare the appalling state of some weighing rooms and demanded improvements that, according to an industry-wide agreement, were supposed to have been completed last year.
