Come racing? Not likely when those at home are getting a better experience

The late, great John McCririck used to ram it down our throats. Big Mac begged us to "come racing". He would invariably be hunting for value in the "jungle", trying to find a board with a bigger price than the show and then proceeding to tell us all at home what we were missing. And, you know what, it always felt like we were missing out.

Fast-forward a decade or two and it now feels like those at the track are the ones missing out.

That is what struck me as Racing TV's Tom Stanley and Steve Mellish were dissecting the opening handicap on Brigadier Gerard night at Sandown.
