Brilliant Bryony is our most prized possession but we need more like her

Unless the satay chicken from my local Chinese takeaway becomes a superfood, or the treadmill in the local gym stops terrifying the living daylights out of me, I will never ride at the Cheltenham Festival so the closest I will come was last Thursday afternoon at around three o’clock.

The Ryanair Chase had just finished with Frodon fighting back bravely to oust Aso. He was 9-2 second-favourite and, along with Road To Respect who finished third, was the joint highest-rated runner in the race.

So if there was nothing out of the ordinary about the outcome, why were the next 20 minutes so memorable?
