'It would be a travesty to lose it now' - Willie Mullins speaks ahead of crunch talks about temporary Thurles takeover
Racecourse was set to close with immediate effect but upcoming fixtures could now go ahead

The track at Thurles has never looked or walked better according to Willie Mullins, who said it would be an "absolute travesty" if the racecourse is not saved ahead of crunch talks between Horse Racing Ireland and the Molony family on Thursday.
The Racing Post understands that HRI has put forward a proposal to the Molony family in which the government-funded body would take over the running of the course on a short-term basis.
Riona Molony shocked the racing world when announcing on September 1 that Ireland's only privately owned racecourse would be closing with immediate effect and therefore forfeit its 11 meetings in the 2025-26 jumps season.
