Few races emphasise the strength in depth of Aidan O'Brien's yard quite like the Derby

His big two in the weeks leading up to the race appeared to be Delacroix and The Lion In Winter and they both bombed out, finishing ninth and 14th respectively. No matter. Lambourn, for whom there was plenty of money in the days leading up to the race, rode to his rescue and never looked like being beaten once turning for home.

That's three in a row for O'Brien, 11 in total, and you have to marvel at his training talents.
