Meet Newmarket's newest trainer who shares a name with a US legend - but is ready to make his own mark in the sport

Having the same name as a US training legend certainly gets Newmarket’s newest handler Wayne Lukas noticed, and the connection doesn’t end there as the Brit has spent most of his 41 years in racing in the US.

The 57-year-old returned home three years ago and recently leased 24 boxes from Michael Wigham at Hamilton Stables on Hamilton Road, from where he has sent out one runner, Think Climate, to get the ball rolling.
