Evening Angles: three to note tonight based on Racing Post stats

Using the Racing Post's unrivalled bank of stats, we pick out three horses to back tonight based on trainer form, RPRs and, tonight's wild card, a trainer's record with two-year-old newcomers . . .
Trainer form
Mandalayan
7.05 Salisbury
Angle: Jonathan Portman has saddled four winners from his last seven runners
Lambourn trainer Jonathan Portman heads to one of his regular courses in excellent form with a 57 per cent strike-rate in the last fortnight and three winners from his last four runners.
Mandalayan has yet to win a handicap, but ran as well as ever when second to a well-handicapped rival at Leicester four weeks ago and with his stable in such good nick, he looks capable of going one better.
Ratings
Poet's Prince
7.55 Chelmsford
Angle: sets a clear standard on RPRs
Poet's Prince took a huge step in the right direction two weeks ago when second to the consistent and well-regarded Epaulement at Ripon on his first start since August.
He gained three all-weather wins last spring, including over course and distance, and a big run can be expected with Ryan Moore taking over in the saddle.
Wild card
Goodwood Rebel
4.55 Salisbury
Angle: Ralph Beckett has 23 per cent strike-rate (5-22) with two-year-old newcomers at Salisbury
Ralph Beckett has an eyecatching record with juvenile debutants at Salisbury and gives a first start to Goodwood Rebel in the 5f novice stakes.
Some might view this as a watching brief as the Dandy Man colt is Beckett's first juvenile runner of the year, but he could be worth chancing with the stable hitting form in recent days.
