The Premier League sack race has been thrown into turmoil with Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo backed into 1-2 to be the next top-flight boss to lose his job.

The Portuguese gaffer, who took over the reins at the City Ground in December 2023, admitted in a press conference earlier today that his relationship with Tricky Trees owner Evangelos Marinakis has "changed" and they were "not as close".

The BBC reported that there is uncertainty at the club and that the players have become aware of the situation.

That was enough for William Hill to shorten Nuno into just 1-2 from 9-1 to be the first boss of the new campaign to be shown the door, despite the fact Forest will be playing in this season's Europa League after finishing seventh in last season's Premier League.

They also started the new campaign in fine style with a 3-1 home victory over Brentford on Sunday, but speculation remains rife in the East Midlands that Nuno's time at the Forest helm may soon be up.

His team travel to Crystal Palace on Sunday and they are a general 21-10 to claim three points.

Graham Potter (West Ham)9-2
Keith Andrews (Brentford)11-2
Scott Parker (Burnley)12-1
