Saturday's Premier League 3pm predictions
Man Utd vs Burnley predictions
Just when you think things can't get any worse for Manchester United, they go and get knocked out of the EFL Cup by League Two Grimsby.
United were 2-0 down after 30 minutes and needed an 89th-minute equaliser from Harry Maguire to even force penalties, highlighting just how dismal things are at the club, despite spending well over £200 million this summer.
An encouraging performance in their opening 1-0 defeat to Arsenal seems an age ago and it would be no surprise to see plenty of market support for Burnley this weekend.
However, for all their struggles, United don't often lose to promoted sides, winning 20 and losing none of their last 23 clashes with the new boys.
That is not to say Burnley can't damage a United team who have taken just six points since the start of April, though, and any joy they do have in Manchester is likely to have Jaidon Anthony at the heart of it.
The Clarets winger set up one and scored the other goal in their 2-0 win over Sunderland last Saturday and he is a huge price to hurt a shaky United backline.
Man Utd vs Burnley team news & predicted line-ups
Man Utd
Lisandro Martinez is a long-term absentee and the game has come too soon for Noussair Mazraoui.
Predicted line-up (3-4-2-1): Bayindir; Yoro, De Ligt, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dorgu; Mbeumo, Mount; Cunha.
Burnley
Zeki Amdouni, Manuel Benson, Jordan Beyer and Connor Roberts are sidelined. Scott Parker should revert to the side which beat Sunderland after ringing the changes for the midweek cup win over Derby.
Predictied line-up (4-2-3-1): Dubravka; Walker, Ekdal, Esteve, Hartman; Cullen, Ugochukwu; Larsen, Hannibal, Anthony; Foster.
Man Utd vs Burnley key stat
Jaidon Anthony has scored six goals and provided as many assists in his last 17 Burnley appearances.
Best bet for Man Utd vs Burnley
Jaidon Anthony to score or assist
1pt 10-3 bet365
Sunderland vs Brentford predictions
A lively crowd helped Sunderland mark their Premier League return with a stylish 3-0 win over West Ham and they will be hoping the Stadium of Light atmosphere can aid their bid to bounce back following a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Burnley.
However, it seems more likely it was the opposition which led to that opening-day win, with the Hammers shipping eight goals in their two games since, and the Black Cats look vulnerable ahead of Brentford's visit.
The Bees were expected to struggle following the departures of Thomas Frank, Bryan Mbeumo and Christian Norgaard but they have responded well to Keith Andrews' ideas, bouncing back from an opening defeat at Nottingham Forest to beat Aston Villa 1-0 and Bournemouth 2-0 over the past seven days.
Mikkel Damsgaard was sorely missed in the loss at Forest but his return and the signing of Dango Ouattara has Brentford looking like a complete side again, suggesting the excellent travellers can land a ninth win in 13 away games when they head to Wearside.
Sunderland vs Brentford team news & predicted line-ups
Sunderland
Dan Ballard and Niall Huggins have joined Aji Alese, Dennis Cirkin, Leo Hjelde, Romain Mundle and captain Luke O’Nien on the sidelines.
Predicted line-up (4-3-3): Roefs; Hume, Mukiele, Alderete, Reinildo; Diarra, Xhaka, Sadiki; Talbi, Mayenda, Adingra.
Brentford
Vitaly Janelt and Gustavo Nunes remain sidelined and Frank Onyeka, Paris Maghoma and Yunus Konak must be assessed.
Brentford (4-2-3-1): Kelleher; Kayode, Collins, Van den Berg, Lewis-Potter; Henderson, Yarmolyuk; Ouattara, Damsgaard, Schade, Thiago.
Sunderland vs Brentford key stat
Brentford have won their last eight Premier League games against promoted sides.
Best bet for Sunderland vs Brentford
Brentford
1pt 6-4 Betfair, Coral, Paddy Power

Tottenham vs Bournemouth predictions
It would be eerily 'Spursy' for Tottenham to follow up a stunning 2-0 win at the Etihad with a home loss to Bournemouth, but Thomas Frank is a manager whose methods don't lead to slip-ups too often.
Expert game management after taking a two-goal lead proved just how sturdy Spurs could be under their new boss – a stark contrast from the haphazard defending we saw under Ange Postecoglou – and they are worthy favourites to make it a perfect nine points from nine when they take on Bournemouth.
The Cherries have been decimated this summer, losing four fifths of their defence, and a midweek cup defeat to Brentford highlighted their issues going forwards.
Prior to that they put in an underwhelming performance in a 1-0 win over Wolves, who were reduced to ten men in the 49th minute, and collapsed late on at Liverpool, so it is hard to see Andoni Iraola's men getting anything from the capital clash.
Tottenham vs Bournemouth team news & predicted line-ups
Tottenham
With no fresh injury concerns, Thomas Frank should stick with the side which beat Manchester City. Dejan Kulusevski, Radu Dragusin, James Maddison, Kota Takai and Bryan Gil remain out but Destiny Udogie is available.
Predicted line-up (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence; Palhinha, Bentancur; Kudus, Sarr, Johnson; Richarlison.
Bournemouth
Lewis Cook and Enes Unal are injured while Julian Araujo is suspended.
Predicted line-up (4-2-3-1): Petrovic; Smith, Diakite, Senesi, Truffert; Adams, Scott; Semenyo, Tavernier, Brooks; Evanilson.
Tottenham vs Bournemouth key stat
Tottenham have won without conceding in both of their Premier League games under Thomas Frank.
Best bet for Tottenham vs Bournemouth
Tottenham & under 4.5 goals
2pts 5-4 BoyleSports, Coral, Ladbrokes

Wolves vs Everton predictions
Everton got life at the Hill Dickinson Stadium off to the perfect start when beating Brighton 2-0 but they had the misfiring Seagulls were to thank for that success.
Brighton racked up 2.4 expected goals and really should have taken the points and spoiled the ribbon-cutting. That poor defensive performance means Everton have allowed their opponents to accumulate 4.4 xG in their first two games, at least 0.7 more than any other Premier League side.
Wolves have amassed just 1.0 xG in their two league games but those matches came against Manchester City and at Bournemouth, where they were reduced to ten men early in the second half.
They should fare better against the Toffees and Jorgen Strand Larsen, scorer of a brace on Tuesday in the cup win over West Ham, will provide a goal threat, despite a minor knock and his reported desire to leave. He is a short price to score, however, so looking at the assist market provides better value.
Jhon Arias impressed at the Club World Cup and has caught the eye since joining Wolves. Given he set up eight goals in his final 22 league games for Fluminense, a first Wolves assist is unlikely to be far away.
Wolves vs Everton team news & predicted line-ups
Wolves
Leon Chiwome and Ki-Jana Hoever are injured but captain Toti Gomes is back from suspension. Jorgen Strand Larsen is expected to start despite a minor knock persistent links to Newcastle.
Predicted line-up (3-4-2-1): Sa; Doherty, Agbadou, Toti; R Gomes, J Gomes, Andre, Wolfe; Munetsi, Arias; Larsen.
Everton
Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson are sidelined and Adam Aznou must be assessed.
Predicted line-up (4-2-3-1): Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko; Gueye, Garner; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish; Barry.
Wolves vs Everton key stat
Jhon Arias registered eight assists in his final 22 league games for Fluminense.
Best bet for Wolves vs Everton
Jhon Arias over 0.5 assists
