The well-named Darkness has come in for sustained support on his British debut in the feature SBK Lincoln (3.35) at Doncaster.

The four-year-old gelding is into 8-1 from 12-1 on Friday evening and is something of an unknown as he hasn't been seen since finishing last of six in the Listed Prix Ridgeway at Longchamp in June.

The son of Siyouni won a Listed race two years ago and has been handed a mark of 95 by the British handicapper.

His new trainer David O'Meara won this race with another stable debutant in 2017 and boasts a shining record with French exports. Lord Glitters, Suedois and Mondialiste all won Group 1s after joining the trainer.

Darkness is owned by Akela Thoroughbreds Limited, who like O'Meara are also represented by last year's third Hortzadar. The 25-1 shot is 9lb lower this time around.

Modern News and Mujtaba share favouritism at the head of the market at 4-1, with only Saleymm shorter than Darkness at 6-1.

The opening SBK Brocklesby Conditions Stakes (1.15) was the subject of a large midweek gamble as the Robyn Brisland-trained Jiffy Boy was backed into 9-2 from 40-1.

The Mondialiste colt has drifted out to 9-1 with the favourite Persian Force remaining strong at the head of the market for emerging owners Amo Racing, Richard Hannon and Rossa Ryan.

Eve Johnson-Houghton won last year's race with subsequent Windsor Castle winner Chipotle and she is represented by Blatant, who runs in the same red silks.

The 5f sprint for juveniles, the first of it's kind for the season, produced a Grade 1 winner when The Last Lion won the 2016 Middle Park.

The ground is good to soft with the GoingStick reading 6.4 at 6.30am. The weather is due to be mild and sunny.
