ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the nine races on ITV on Saturday
1.15 Doncaster
SBK Brocklesby Conditions Stakes, 5f
The opening race of the Flat turf season and the first this year for two-year-olds, the Richard Hannon-trained Persian Force is the red-hot favourite to make the perfect start under Rossa Ryan for Amo Racing. Jiffy Boy has been well backed throughout the week, while Blatant represents last year's winning connections.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: PERSIAN FORCE
225,000euros yearling; brother to Gubbass who was a useful 2yo last term; respected
Schloss Roxburghe Go North Cab On Target Handicap Hurdle, 2m5f
Son Of The Somme won a qualifier for this series final at Wetherby in January and has the able assistance of Brian Hughes here. Sue Smith's Romeo Brown is the only course winner in the field, while the Tim Easterby-trained Sheriff Garrett arrives off the back of a confidence-boosting victory at Sedgefield.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: SON OF THE SOMME
Progressive; 15l clear of third when close second latest; likely still on a good mark
SBK Cammidge Trophy, Listed, 6f
Group 3 winner Garrus was highly tried last season and steps back in class and is likely to be well fancied in this. The prolific Mo Celita struck at this level last year and could be the main danger alongside Diligent Harry.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: DILIGENT HARRY
Progressive at three, beaten neck in Newbury Group 3; still has potential; the one to beat
Unibet Magnolia Stakes, Listed, 1m2f
Fancy Man has been one of the classier performers on the all-weather this winter and bids to return to winning ways, having finished third behind Alenquer in the Winter Derby last time. Felix needs to recapture the form that saw him finish third in last year's Dubai Turf, as does the Roger Varian-trained Father Of Jazz.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: FELIX
Not disgraced in Meydan Group 1 on reappearance; consistent on AW; leading player
2.25 DoncasterSBK Spring Mile, 1m
While only nine contest the race, there is little to split the consistent duo Empirestateofmind and General Lee. The former was second behind Lincoln favourite Mujtaba at Redcar last season, while General Lee was successful at Goodwood in August on his latest start.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: EMPIRESTATEOFMIND
1m handicap wins at Musselburgh, Thirsk and Pontefract on three of his last five starts
Three course-and-distance winners, Bandinelli, Imperium and Moliwood, clash, with the former having won a similar contest on his last start in November. Auriferous finally got off the mark earlier this month and could kick on from that, while veteran Sir Chauvelin remains in fine form.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: MOLIWOOD
4-7 in handicaps, narrowly for last two wins; latest was with late bid when up to 2m here
SBK Doncaster Mile, Listed, 1m
Only four go to post and the class act is Group 2 winner Chindit, who bids for a first success since winning the Greenham Stakes last April. Royal Champion remains deeply unexposed, while Boosala won a competitive handicap at the track over 7f in November.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: CHINDIT
Drops in class (has run in Group 1s) and is the clear form pick if he resumes in good form
Herring Queen Series Final Mares' Novices' Handicap Hurdle, 2m
Nicky Henderson makes the long journey to Scotland with Theatre Glory, who has won three of her four starts. Aliomaana, Betty Baloo and Rae Des Champs all won last time out, while Taragrace bids for a hat-trick for the in-form Donald McCain yard.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: ALIOMAANA
Not most fluent jumper but smooth winner of Wincanton novice latest; mark looks workable
3.35 Doncaster
SBK Lincoln (Heritage Handicap), 1m
Adam Farragher's unfortunate injury means Cieren Fallon comes in for the plum ride on unbeaten favourite Mujtaba, who bids to give William Haggas a record-breaking fifth win in the race. Harry Davies has a big opportunity on the Charlie Appleby-trained Modern News, while Saleymm, Notre Belle Bete and Darkness all have leading chances.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: MODERN NEWS
Lightly raced 4yo; 3-3 in handicaps over 7f and shapes as though he'll be suited by 1m
