A wide-open affair. Having place terms on your side is a big help and Sky Bet are offering the best each-way concession at seven places. However, it is worth noting that they can often be considerably shorter in the market than rival firms and they don't offer BOG to extra place races, so it is worth balancing out how much that extra place is worth. bet365 are BOG, go six places and are six points bigger on price on my fancy for the race Tintintin. He made up significant ground in the Imperial Cup last time and looks well handicapped off 125, so I'll be backing him each-way with bet365.

Top Novices' Hurdle
2.55 Aintree, Friday
Ten runners, but no firms are offering any enhancement on the three places. The market is headed by Romeo Coolio, who could prove a class above this opposition. He has shortened plenty though and, while I would recommend taking advantage of bet365's exclusive price boost double on him and Caldwell Potter, I am also happy to have an each-way play in the race, rather than back him in a single at short odds. I think Jet To Vegas has been underestimated in the market. He has been impressive on his last two starts and Lucinda Russell has a habit of landing big-priced winners at this meeting. bet365 are offering BOG so they are still the firm to back him with.

Melling Chase

Just the four runners and Jonbon is clearly the one to beat. I don't think I'd be getting involved at short odds, but he looks a prime candidate for bet365's Super Boost, so keep an eye on that.

Topham Handicap Chase
4.05 Aintree, Friday
A hugely competitive affair over the Grand National fences and it could prove wise to take advantage of Sky Bet's seven places here. Given how much luck you need in a race like this I'd recommend having a couple on side and the two who look overpriced are The King Of Prs, who can be forgiven a poor run in the Grand Annual, and Soul Icon, who has some really good form this season, notably winning the Desert Orchid Chase off just a 2lb lower mark.

Sefton Novices' Hurdle
4.40 Aintree, Friday
There are 15 runners set to go to post and Sky Bet are the standout for each-way punters with five places. I am a big fan of Battle Born Lad, who was so impressive at Haydock last time and beat Wendigo on his start before that. I find it difficult to see him out of the first five.

Hallgarten And Novum Wines Handicap Hurdle
5.15 Aintree, Friday
Another race where you want places on your side and once again Sky Bet's six places is the best on offer, with most other firms going five. I'd rather back a couple at bigger prices given how competitive this is and the two I am siding with are Fiercely Proud and Washington.
