'That's 24 wins from 24 days this month' - Charlie Johnston maintains fine run of form with Special success

Charlie Johnston continued his rich vein of form this month when Special Ghaiyyath landed the 1m½f maiden.
The three-year-old finally broke his maiden at the eighth attempt when making all to score by an impressive three lengths under Connor Beasley.
Johnston is operating at a 16 per cent strike-rate this year with total earnings of £1,137,364.
"That makes it 24 wins from 24 days in June so we will try keep that up for the rest of the month," Johnston told Racing TV.
Special Ghaiyyath was bought for £38,000 at the Goffs UK Breeze-Up Sale last spring and had been runner-up on three occasions previously.
"It has been a bit frustrating to not get his head in front until now," Johnston added. "I think in hindsight he was probably ridden a bit too aggressively at Lingfield. I thought this trip and ground would be ideal for him.
"He only needed to run to his mark to get his head in front today and that is what he has done.
"He can be a bit freegoing and that's why he was gelded a few starts back. I thought we might get some pace pressure early, but once he had been left alone I was quite happy. He's done it nicely."
Edvard off the mark
Edvard Grieg also scored for the first time at the 17th attempt for Dylan Cunha when beating fancied contenders Dr Rio and Lednikov in the 1m4f handicap.
It was the first leg of a double for Cieren Fallon, who went on to land the feature 1m2f handicap on Gincident.
