Connections of Showroom are hoping for a clear run with the three-year-old colt after he returned from a long layoff with a promising success in the 1m2f novice stakes.

Off the track since winning a juvenile maiden at Goodwood by five lengths last September, the Mark Johnston-trained son of Motivator has had problems but was forward enough to oblige as the 30-100 favourite under Joe Fanning.

"He's had some reasonably significant soundness issues, which is why this was just his second start," said Johnston's son and assistant Charlie.
