It was a fruitful trip north for Newmarket-based Simon and Ed Crisford as Line Of Descent made all in the 1m3f maiden to ensure the first runner for the stable at the Lanarkshire venue since the father and son became joint-trainers was a winning one.

The three-year-old comfortably held the challenge of Fantasising, who was also the first runner at the course for trainer Harry Eustace, as the pair pulled 12 lengths clear of their rivals.

Simon Crisford said: "It was our first runner at Hamilton so it was very nice to come away with the prize. It's a long, but straightforward journey, around six hours, and it's a super racetrack.

"We're really pleased with him, we've been in search of some nice ground because he's always been racing on ground that's a little too quick. It's taken him a little bit of time to come to hand and he should stay further. He seems to be on an upward curve."

Line Of Descent was the first winner for jockey PJ McDonald in the yellow and black silks of Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum.

Dalgleish double

The rapidly improving Platinumcard struck in the 1m1f Scottish Trophy Handicap to help trainer Keith Dalgleish land a one-two in the feature race.

A shock 80-1 winner at Hamilton in June, the six-year-old claimed his fourth win in five starts when leading close home under Billy Garritty to beat stablemate Howzer Black by a neck.

The win marked the first half of a double for Dalgleish as Paddyplex came home a five-length winner of the 1m½f apprentice handicap under Oisin McSweeney.
