'It couldn’t have gone better' - Amberia stuns on her debut for Dave Loughnane to follow in the footsteps of sire Coulsty

Amberia made a stunning debut for trainer Dave Loughnane when scorching home by six lengths in division one of the 7f juvenile maiden.
The 12-1 shot made all under Rossa Ryan to beat 5-2 favourite Eyes Front to follow in the footsteps of her sire Coulsty, who enjoyed tremendous success at the track, winning twice from three starts, including victory in the Listed King Richard III Stakes.
Loughnane said: "She ticked every box for us at home. She’s never put a foot wrong and is probably one of the soundest horses I’ve ever trained.
"Every time we upped her work she took it in her stride. It couldn’t have gone better and she was never really put under pressure – Rossa just gave her a hands-and-heels ride near the line so she knew what racing was."
Amberia also recorded a quicker time than the George Scott-trained Jack The Tooth, who justified 5-4 favouritism in division two on his second outing.
Loughnane added: "She was over a second faster which upgrades her performance even more. It was only a band D race, but a lot of the other trainers thought they had nice horses – I couldn't be happier."
Archivist logs win
The Cheveley Park Stud-owned Archivist, who cost 600,000gns at the Book 1 sale in 2023 and who had finished runner-up in four his five previous starts, finally got off the mark when landing the mile maiden under Tom Marquand for trainer William Haggas.
