Educator ends losing run to strike for Henrietta Knight as part of 358-1 Hollie Doyle treble

One-time Derby entry Educator ended a 20-race winless run since scoring in the royal silks at Newmarket in April 2022 when landing the 1m4f handicap under Hollie Doyle.
Bred by Queen Elizabeth II, the 28-1 shot got off the mark on his fifth outing for trainer Henrietta Knight on what was his first start since wind surgery.
The son of Deep Impact was successful off a rating 17lb lower than when chasing home subsequent Group 3 winner Okeechobee as a three-year-old.
Knight’s assistant Brendan Powell was pleased for owners Jeremy and Jason Young, who bought the six-year-old for 52,000gns.
“It’s great for the guys,” Powell told Sky Sports Racing. “They bought him as a three-year-old off William Haggas. He ran well for Mick Appleby, but he was running over a mile-six and two miles, and I always thought he seemed to have a bit more speed.
“Jeremy and Jason have a lot of horses in training with Mick and they sent us three. We had a winner for them last week over fences at Hereford. They’re great enthusiasts.”
Educator was the middle leg of a 358-1 treble for Doyle, who won the preceding 7f handicap on Diamondonthehill, before Calanthe made it two from two over course and distance under the same rider in the mile handicap.
Boots on the march
Go Go Boots, a general 33-1 shot for the Betfred Oaks, followed up her successful debut at this track in December in the 1m2f fillies’ novice.
John and Thady Gosden’s daughter of Night Of Thunder, who runs in the colours of celebrity chef and Breeders' Cup-winning owner Bobby Flay, gave 7lb and upwards of a three-length beating to her five rivals under Kieran Shoemark.
