Influential Newmarket trainer Rae Guest will no longer sponsor the town's Racing Centre and said other trainers will follow suit as long as the National Association of Racing Staff's George McGrath remains in charge.

The move comes in an escalating row over the way Nars chose to highlight alleged malpractice within the sport in a spoof Christmas quiz in the staff trade union's December newsletter.

Guest, the east region chairman of the National Trainers' Federation, has written to McGrath to express his disappointment at the quiz.
