Tony Bloom bids for feature-race success at Brighton and Hollie Doyle returns to the scene of her weekend four-timer

Punting pointers from some of today's race meetings . . .

Brighton: Bloom bids for local winner

Brighton & Hove Albion chairman Tony Bloom bids for a local winner at the seaside track with topweight Santorini Star in the £25,000 1m2f fillies' handicap (4.05).

The four-year-old, who Bloom owns with Ian McAleavy, has been successful on two of her four starts since making her debut for William Haggas in October.

The daughter of Golden Horn cost 290,000gns at Tattersalls Book 1 in 2022 and won a mile fillies' novice at Kempton in November and a 1m2f handicap at Lingfield the following month.

She was last seen finishing fifth in the Winter Oaks Fillies' Handicap at Lingfield in January and makes her turf debut in this five-runner event under Tom Marquand.

Haggas has saddled five winners from nine runners at Brighton in the past five years and also runs the once-raced Mahra's Love in the 6f maiden (2.55).

Nottingham: can Amigo be punters' friend?

Ambiente Amigo will bid to make a fitness edge count in the feature Listed British Stallion Studs EBF Nottinghamshire Oaks (4.28).

Francophone and Karmology head the betting on their return to action, whereas Ambiente Amigo, who is third in the market, has the benefit of a recent run.

The James Owen-trained filly posted a career-best effort when second in the Rosebery Handicap at Kempton last month.

Rose Prick, a regular at Listed level for trainer Ed Walker, is another with a run under her belt having finished fifth in the Listed Snowdrop Stakes at Kempton last month. She steps up to 1m2f for the first time.

Walker said: "She has a run under her belt and I'd expect her to improve from that. It doesn't look the strongest renewal and we hope she'll run well."

Wolverhampton: Doyle back for more

Hollie Doyle enjoyed a four-timer at this all-weather track on Saturday evening and returns to the West Midlands for five rides.

The Ollie Sangster-trained Radio Star looks to be Doyle's best chance. She has been beaten a short head and a nose when second on her last two starts in novice and maiden company and reverts to a handicap off a potentially lenient mark of 70 in the 5f handicap (8.30).

Artavian is another with leading claims for Doyle off top weight in the 1m4f handicap (7.30). Doyle partnered the five-year-old to victory at Windsor on his final start of last season when he recorded a Racing Post Rating of 71. His revised official mark of 64 remains workable.

Doyle also maintains the partnership with the Archie Watson-trained Emaculate Soldier, who improved on recent efforts when fourth on his last outing and now sports blinkers for the first time in the 1m6f handicap (8.00).
