We're just a week out from Christmas Day so I'll do my bit for the Yuletide mood and hop down off the soapbox for what is the final dispatch from this column for 2024.
It has been a mixed bag of a year for the sport in many respects but, amid all the rancour, consternation and controversy, there's been plenty of fairly vintage stuff too. In no particular order, here are five topics that lifted the spirits for yours truly.
